THE youth and developmet team of the Somerset Disabled Cricket Clubs DragonsXI took part in their annual challenge match against Dorset CC at Dorchester's ground for the Harry Pickersgill Cup.

Somerset won the toss and had no hesitation in putting Dorset into bat.

The Dragons’ youthful side drilled by team manager Jason Mayled, put pressure on the Dorset batsmen throughout their 30-over innings and restricted them to 96-8.

Star bowlers were Jack Milton and Ben Hallows, while Harry Rutter in his first season in the team also provided a spectacular direct hit run out.

In reply although Somerset lost the early wickets of Mike Contreras and Adam Snow, but the ever-reliable James Mayled (14 no) and Jack Milton (40 no) saw the Dragons home to victory.
