TAUNTON Town Ladies FC held their first home game of the season at Wordsworth Drive when they hosted Bay Ladies.

With some decent pre-season friendlies so far, Taunton were far more prepared than they were this time last year.

The game began well with Taunton gaining possession and creating opportunities.

But they failed to capitalise on this and with some offside decisions going against them, Bay took the lead after 15minutes.

Taunton’s defence was broken again from the left, and Bay piled on the pressure netting more goals before the break to lead 4-0. Taunton began their comeback through a change of formation and personnel to dominate the midfield and attack.

This was quickly repaid through an excellent goal from Colette Martin.

Taunton continued to mount attacks and were unlucky to not net several more. An excellent worked free kick from Mags Lewko saw Hannah Forse squeeze through to tap it past the Bay keeper and at 4-2 Taunton were back in the game and went on the hunt for more goals.

Although Taunton battled hard and attacked in numbers, it meant that gaps opened up at the back and Bay took advantage to add two further goals.

Taunton’s player of the game was Hannah Forse. Any new players looking to join Taunton can call Becky on 07792-499120 for more details.
