FOR the second time in five days, Taunton came from behind on Saturday to record a 4-1 success against Cinderford Town at Wordsworth Drive.

The Peacocks had a massive scare after just 28 seconds when Lee Smith beat keeper Connor Sidley-Adams to a deep free-kick, but headed again the crossbar.

The reprieve was short-lived, Scott Wilson firing Cinderford ahead from close range on ten minutes.

The home side responded immediately, Rodney Marsh curling a brilliant shot into the top left-hand corner at the Fire Station end.

His side then enjoyed the best of the remainder of the first half, and only a fine Ben John save from James Blake maintained parity.

A Blake shot on turn flashed just wide and, as Town continued to dominate, Marsh saw a pile-driving free-kick from 30 yards palmed behind.

Taunton’s deserved second came seven minutes after the interval. Marsh stepped over a free-kick and captain Simon Ingram curled it low round the wall.

Sprawling John got a hand to the ball, but could not keep it out of the bottom right-hand corner.

And, with his fifth goal in just three home games, Ingram secured the points on 77 minutes tucking home a penalty after John had been red-carded for aiming a head butt at Blake.

Craig Herrod iced the cake with a fine left-foot finish two minutes from time, handing Taunton a first league win of the season and extending their unbeaten run to four games.
