Taunton Town are in FA Cup action this Saturday when they face a tricky first round qualifying tie at Toolstation League side Gillingham Town (3pm).

The Dorset club, newly-promoted to the Premier Division this season and managed by former Taunton player Adrian Foster, currently lie fourth in the table, having won three out of their four games. Manager Leigh Robinson said: “I think I am right in saying that Taunton have not progressed past this round in six years so we are going to Gillingham focused on giving the club and the fans something that they haven’t had for a long time.

“We certainly won’t be taking Gillingham lightly as they had a great result against a good Bishop Sutton team in the last round and clearly have some prowess in front of goal.

“We do, however, have confidence and with the exception of Tuesday have had some good results ourselves recently so it’s shaping up to be a great cup tie which I’m sure the players will relish.”

Ben Mammola and Dave Hambly should return to the squad for Saturday’s game after missing the disappointing defeat at Shortwood.

There are spaces remaining on the team coach for supporters who want to travel to Gillingham. To book a seat email admin@tauntontown.com or contact the club office on 01823- 254909.
