NEIL Whisler was the winner in the top division of the October Monthly Medal at Taunton Vale Golf Club on Saturday, but only after countback edged him ahead of second placed James Keitch after both returned with 70.

Mike Bright was third in Division One with 71.

Ian Dawe won Division Two with 72, but countback had to be used to separate the next two places after which Darren Walker was second and Mike Saffin third as both carded 73.

Ryan Potter with 65 stormed to a four stroke win in the third division, four ahead of second placed Tom Miller, with James Luton third on 70.

The top division of Sunday's Stableford was won by Kevin Parker with 39 points, two ahead of Frank Penny who claimed second spot on countback from Gerry Maxwell after both scored 37.

There was a three-way tie on 37 points at the top of the second division but following countback it was Ian Dawe who was the winners, Mike Saffin was second and Mark Farmer third.

Philip Martin claimed top spot in DivisionThree, but only after countack put him ahead of Will Marchant after both scored 37 points, while Sam Hallett was third with 36.

The Ladies Section Autumn Cocktail last week was won by Angie Warnes and Cartol Howe with 38 points, Pat Campbell and Sarah Payne were second with 37 while Shanni Whisler and Maggie Tolchard were third with 36.
