SOMERSET RC Triathlon Club members had a strong presence at the Wellington Wheelers West Buckland Hill Climb last weekend.
This tough cycle challenges cyclists against the clock up West Buckland Hill. Jo Carritt won the ladies section in a time of 11m 32s, with Sarah Warren second lady in 16m 36s and Cathy Rosewell finishing in 16m 51s. Andrew Kelly was the second male in 9m 57s.
Other times: Dan Talbot 10m 57s, Lee Constable 11m 15s, Ed Paull 11m 40s, James Warren 11m 44s and James Paull 12m 4s.
Somerset RC’s Caroline Haywood was fifth lady at the Burnham Aquathlon. The event involved a 750m pool swim followed by 7.5km run.
Times: total: 46m 34s; (swim 11m 59s), (run 34m 35s). Adrian Posta: total: 47m 49s; (swim 17m 4s), (run 30m 45s).
Six club members completed the River Dart 10km Open water swim. Conditions were far from ideal with the water cold and rough.
